Over 100 international buyers from various source markets are expected to attend this year’s edition of Sanganai/Hlanganani to be held from September 12 to 14.
Speaking at the Sanganai/Hlanganani first press briefing, Zimbabwe Tourism Authority acting Chief Executive Rita Likukuma said the screening criteria for international buyers this year will be strict since they are focusing on those who are committed to invest in Zimbabwe.
“The 2019 edition will host over 100 international buyers from various source markets.
“The screening criteria for international buyers will be strict as our focus is to host buyers who are serious about bringing business to Zimbabwe and who have potential to invest in the tourism industry, ”said Likukuma.
Likukuma has urged exhibitors to book early so as to avoid last minute disappointments since registration has opened and it’s on first come first serve basis.
“The speed networking sessions that were introduced two editions back have yielded great benefits for participants who have utilized this forum to introduce their products and services to international buyers.
“Speed networking will take place from 12 to 13 September which will also mark the business days of the expo.”
Likukuma said no operator is small in tourism as everyone has a market to serve.
“I am appealing to every operator throughout the country to come out and take advantage of the fair. No operator is small in tourism as everyone has a market to serve.
“It is also my wish to also have tourism operators and supplies from Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs),”she said.
Likukuma said exhibitors will also be privy to the online meetings diary where they can schedule meetings with international buyers prior to the exhibition.
The platform is created to facilitate business to business meetings all under one roof without incurring huge costs on travel to meet tour operators and wholesalers in the source markets.
