TWELVE-YEAR-OLD Gweru bred chanter RichXtra has released a tribute single to the late Soul Jah Love, who died last month.
The single, a modification of the late Chibaba’s song Dai Hupenyu Hwaitengwa, features a number of artistes.
“I am actually a fan of Soul Jah Love.
“I felt Jah Love gave people who are looked down upon a reason to dream since his music career seemed like it was not going anywhere in its early stages,” said RichXtra.
He worked with a Mkoba 20 studio, the Mk2nil, and was helped to structure the song by Jah Flint, Fradiquo and Taflan.
His music is also on YouTube.
RichXtra has one previous recording, Uri wangu, which he composed as a dedication for his sister’s wedding.
A third song, From the Ghetto, is work in progress.
