A TOTAL of 439 police officers were on Friday conferred with certificates at the graduation ceremony held in the capital.
Among the graduands, 425 were police officers while four came from the Zimbabwe National Army.
Seven came from the Air Force of Zimbabwe while three from the Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Service.
In his speech at the graduation ceremony, Commissioner General of Police Godwin Matanga urged women to enrol for the various programmes.
“I urge the Police Staff College to continue increasing the number of women enrolled in all its programmes.
“Gender equality and particularly the contribution of women in the defence and security architecture, is increasingly becoming a crucial success factor,” said comm-Gen Matanga.
“The role of women in all sphere of human existence is significant and important.
Hence without women this graduation would have certainly been incomplete.”
The Police Staff College offers such programmes as Diploma in Adult Education (UZ), Diploma in Law (UZ), Diploma in Public Relations (BUSE), Diploma in Business Management – Senior Management Development Programme (UZ), Public Prosecutor)’s Course Training Methods Course and Staff Administration.
