A 72-YEAR-OLD man has been granted $20 000 bail in a matter he is being accused of killing his uncle following a misunderstanding over $80.

Stephen Sixpence of Epworth was remanded to February 28 next year, pending finalisation of the matter, when he appeared before Harare magistrate, Evelyn Mashavakure. The State said on December 5, Sixpence had a misunderstanding with his now deceased uncle, Langton Kambamura, over some missing $80.

The money belonged to Kambamura.

The misunderstanding resulted in an altercation, and it is alleged that Sixpence struck Kambamura with an iron bar.

He was rushed to hospital, but died upon admission to Harare Hospital.

“We only had a misunderstanding with Kambamura, who is my uncle.

“I did not intend to kill him,” said Sixpence in court.

Zebedia Bofu led the State.
