TRIANGLE continued with their impressive run in the CAF Confederation Cup after a 1-0 win away to Azam of Tanzania yesterday.
The Sugar Sugar Boys scored the only goal of the match through captain Ralph Kawondera in the 34th minute.
Taurai Mangwiro’s men now go into the second leg of this first round stage to be played at Barbourfields in Bulawayo on September 28 with an upper hand.
Mangwiro had made it clear at the beginning of the campaign that they are targeting to reach the group stage.
The Lowveld side, who are making their debut appearance, went into the match coming from back-to-back defeats at the hands of Manica Diamonds and Black Rhinos.
The defeat to Manica halted their fine run which had seen them going for 14 games without tasting defeat.
Ahead the trip to Tanzania, Mangwiro had vowed to bounce back to winning ways and they have just lived to that.
They are participating in this second-tier competition of African club competition on merit of winning the Chibuku super Cup.
