MIGHTY Warriors captain Emmaculate Msipa has thrown her weight being the Warriors at the 2021 AFCON finals in Cameroon.

Msipa, who plays for Fatih Karagümrük in the Turkish Super League, urged Norman Mapeza’s team to fight for the flag and make the country proud.

They are set to take on Malawi today in their second Group B match. The Warriors came close to producing the first shock of the tournament only to fall, in the dying seconds, to Senegal, in their opening game.

“We are behind the boys and I am proud of the way they played in their first game,” said Msipa. “It’s just unfortunate that we lost that day. l just want them to remain focused and keep their heads up, we will win.

“I know they will do it.

“Let’s take our broken pieces and build our boat so that we go through.”

Msipa, who signed a six-month contract with her Turkish side, is hopeful of an extension.

“I signed for six months then will negotiate after or, God willing, I will sign for a new club,” she said. I wish to be among the best African players in Europe and l wish to sign in France or England.  That’s my aim now.

“I want us to qualify for AFCON, I want to play at the World Cup,”

Msipa said her stay in Turkey has been good.

“I’m really happy because I am scoring, assisting and we are doing well in every game.

“I’m grateful and I want to give thanks and praise to the Almighty who strengthens me.

“I also want to salute the Zimbabwe National Army side, Black Rhinos, for their support. l am happy because things are going the way I wanted.

“Playing in different countries, showing off my talent and representing my country, my club Black Rhinos Queens and my fellow Zimbabwean football players, is helping show the world that Zimbabwe has great talent.”
