MUSIC producer, Tapiwa “Maselo” Jaera, is ready to unveil his album which he has been recording for the past 14 years.
The 33-year-old has been banking songs for over a decade at various studios where he worked.
He now runs his own studio and has produced for several successful and upcoming artists.
“It is true that I am about to release my album later this month, which carries 11 tracks titled Never Mind.
“I did eight collaborations with various artists, namely Baba Harare on a song called (Maduve), Andy Muridzo (Kandiro), Diana “Mangwenya” Samkange (Machembere), Chief Hwenje (Mudzimu Wababa), Sasha Maduve (Pasichigare), Progress Chipfumo (Mazuva) and Mutare-based musician Caff on Mudiwa Wangu.
“The rest I did alone,” he said.
He narrated how Mono Mukundu assisted him.
“Since 2006, I have been composing my songs but playing for other bands.
“I later started working on this album in 2009, with dreams to release it by 2013.
“I started as a recording artist at Monolio Studios, this was when Mono advised me to learn more musical instruments because I had the potential to be a producer.
“So, this music, which I recorded with Mono from 2007 to 2008 was not published as I concentrated on building Maselo Studio Productions for many artists.”
He added:
“Besides serving two masters at the same time, singing and producing simultaneously, I then decided to concentrate on studio work first.
“Again, I delayed because some people who are good at criticising others were now saying it was best to do one thing at a time.
“I am now set to release this music that I have been developing and I am already performing live shows and we are ready to launch this month once the venue is confirmed,” he said.
He said it’s a mixed genre of traditional to danceable beats,
