QADR Amini has credited his two goals against title chasing CAPS United at Baobab on Wednesday to teamwork.
Ngezi Platinum raced to a 3-0 lead before winning 3-2 and dent CAPS’ title hopes on the penultimate round of matches.
Marlon Mushonga scored the third for the dominant Ngezi and despite the late surge by the Green Machine through goals from substitute Dominic Chungwa and Newman Sianchali it was not enough to secure a dramatic point.
After the match, Amini praised his team mates.
“First of all, I’d like to praise all of my team-mates,” he said.
“We won as a team today. Our strengths are our togetherness and solidity. I’m very happy to have scored the two goals, but really, it was the entire team that scored.”
“The game was tough but we showed character.
“CAPS is a big team and people thought we would lose easily.”
Amini said they drew inspiration from their controversial defeat in the Chibuku Super Cup against Highlanders two weeks ago at Barbourfields Stadium.
“Today’s motivation came from our game against Highlanders. We really wanted to win that match. So today we told ourselves that we should win the game,” he added.
