HAMLET Zhou Mufandaidza, the younger brother of the late music icon, Andy Brown, who passed away at home in Kuwadzana on Wednesday, will be buried today.
Hamlet will be buried alongside his more famous brother, Andy Brown, at their rural home at Taperesu Village under Chief Mudavanhu in Mberengwa.
Hamlet complained of diarrhoea on Friday and was found dead in his room.
He was a gifted guitarist and vocalist, who played a significant role in the band Storm, which he co-founded with his brother.
Despite being a quiet person, he was a multi-talented artist who worked tirelessly to preserve his brother’s legacy.
The music industry in Zimbabwe has been mourning his loss, and many have urged promoters and artists to work together to keep the legacy of old artists alive.
Jazz 105 Promotions’ legendary music promoter, Josh Hozheri, said Hamlet was a talented artist who worked well with others in the band Storm.
“They produced hit after hit and were a very serious outfit that defied odds and would fill venues even in midweek.
“I am in pain. He was a quiet guy, but a gifted guitarist and vocalist whose voice was almost similar to Andy.
“To all promoters, let’s learn to include the old artists when we promote these new genres,” said Hozheri.
Hamlet was born on April 18, 1974 and is survived by three daughters.
