MIKEL ARTETA has become the first manager to be stung by a new rule minutes into the Community Shield.
The Arsenal boss was shown a yellow card by referee Stuart Attwell during the match at Wembley Stadium.
Arteta had been left frustrated by the decision not to book Rodri for a foul on Kai Havertz.
He made his feelings known by approaching the fourth official before passionately waving an imaginary yellow card.
His antics would only result in getting himself booked, as Attwell walked over to reprimand the Gunners boss.
New rules for this season will see officials clamp down on such behaviour from managers.
Coaches and staff are to behave in a “responsible manner” at all times.
They must also remain in their technical areas during matches and cannot enter the pitch to speak to the officials.
Breaches are expected to bring heavier fines and potential bans amongst other punishments this season -Sun.
