WARRIORS striker Knox Mutizwa has urged fans to believe in the team ahead of their final AFCON qualifier game against Congo-Brazzaville, which he described as a must win.
The match will be played at the National Sports Stadium with Zimbabwe looking for at least a draw to qualify for the finals to be hosted by Egypt in June this year.
The Golden Arrows man hopes to carry his form at the club to the national if he is selected by coach Sunday ‘Mhofu’ Chidzambwa.
The provisional squad is expected today.
“I feel great that I have been in form lately, it’s good for me and my career is in a good run now.
“I want to carry this form to our last game. My season at Arrows (Golden) has been great as the leading goal scorer so far, I am happy,” he said.
“This game is a must win for us. We need to win and qualify for Egypt.
“We are keeping the hopes alive,” said Mutizwa.
Mutizwa believes the country has quality players, who can help the team participate at the AFCON finals for the fourth time.
“Everyone should put his level best because we are a team of great players who can do a great job for the team.
“We are players, who want to do their best for the team. We believe in our team and we know what we are capable of doing, which is qualifying for Afcon.
“I think all the players will work hard to make nation happy,” he said.
The former Highlanders star has encouraged fans to come out in their numbers and witness the team qualify for AFCON for the third time.
“Our fans shouldn’t doubt us and their attendance in our last home match showed us that they believe in us. What’s left is for us to deliver and we will make sure that we do that,”
“A point or three will help us in our quest for qualification.
“Since fans have showed us that they believe in us. What’s left is for us to deliver and we will make sure that we will do that,” he said.
“Individually I know it’s not easy but I promise to do my best and will just do all I am required to do as a player, if given a chance to play.
“I will play good football and score our chances.
“I hope our fans will come in numbers to witness us going to Afcon for the 2nd successful tournament.
