Chicken Inn goalie Donovan Bernard has showered praises to his teammates for completing the first round of the Chibuku Super Cup without conceding.
The Gamecocks defence remains flawless in the opening stages of the tournament.
“It is important that we are not conceding. As a goal keeper it builds confidence. Even the coach’s will start believing in you, and nothing on earth exceeds knowing that you are surrounded by believers and I believe you have to earn it rather than to claim it.
“It is better sometimes not to score than to concede. Our defence has been exquisite and solid.
“It is a great evidence of hard work. We are working tirelessly at the training sessions to get such results and it is not coincidence. Everyone is determined to get positive results. We defend and attach as a team. I am getting credit for accumulating these clean sheets but I think it is about team work. My target is to help the team to progress to the finals and I believe that if you can see it, you can get it,” said Bernard.
