ZIMBABWE international goalkeeper, Donovan Bernard looks set to join DStv Premiership side, SuperSport United during the January transfer window despite extending his contract at Chicken Inn recently.
The 28-year-old has been a consistent performer on the domestic scene and had already attracted interests from local heavyweights, including CAF Confederation Cup representatives Dynamos.
Bernard recently signed a two-year contract extension with Bulawayo-based Castle Lager Premiership side Chicken Inn who have brought back seasoned mentor Joey “Mafero” Antipas as their head coach.
Speaking to Zimpapers Sports on Tuesday, Bernard’s manager, Gibson Mahachi confirmed moves by SuperSport United.
“Yes, there are inquiries but at the moment everything is still premature. In the meantime, I can confirm that we extended his contract with Chicken Inn after it lapsed at the end of last season.
“We have had some inquiries about him from the South African Premiership club SuperSport United but we are still to come to a tangible conclusion.
“We are hopeful that everything will go on well and we will get a positive response. He is still a Chicken Inn player but they will not rule out any move abroad for the player,” said Mahachi.
