TELEVISION presenter Lee Ann Bernard says her heart bleeds for the poor rural school boys and girls whose quest for education is hindered by the poverty they find themselves in.
She donated exercise books to a less privileged school in Domboshava.
Bernard was attending the Kingdom of the Son School Prize Giving Day and donated stationery to the students.
She was impressed and moved by the children’s poor background which is hindering their ability to access education.
Bernard believes that it is the duty of citizens to help each other, especially those in need.
“We still have children in some rural areas who watch television at their neighbours’ homes,” said Bernard.
“Among them are future leaders, pilots, television and radio personalities, so my wish is for them to access education.
“When President Mnangagwa speaks about leaving no one behind, it is our duty to help each other and share what we have.
“I feel blessed to give to such people for the betterment of their lives.”
The event was attended by traditional leaders in Svosve village under Chief Chinamhora.
