A UNITED Family International Church pastor has urged people to know, study and support true church leaders saying some are after milking congregants.
Pastor Shacky Timburwa, popularly known as Rasta Pastor in Chegutu, led an all-night prayer dubbed ‘Liberation Night, Verdict of Release’ at Pfupajena Secondary School grounds last Frida.
He emphasized the need to know leaders who are after changing people’s lives other than those who are after taking church positions to earn money.
“Fix your eyes on Christ Jesus, take your time to study scriptures and you will understand and see how faithful our God is in every season,” said Pastor Timburwa.
“Come and reason with God through his word of life, repent from evil and shun those who are after weakening Christians by crafting ways to harden people’s hearts for self-aggrandizement.
“Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts.
“Prophet Emmanuel Makandiwa has shown me the way and taught me about the one who gives life in abundance and I meditated upon the word he taught me to this day and saw how God is faithful to mankind.
“As we worship, take your time to study the word as well as know your leaders since some are after satisfying their desires, exposing members to the world.
“Church has a role to play on earth and because of its existence God is controlling evil things being schemed by the devil to harm people.
“I am not teaching you these things to shame you or other leaders, but as my beloved sons I warn you. For though you have thousands of instructors in Christ, yet have you not many fathers: for in Christ Jesus I have begotten you through the gospel taught to me by Prophet Emmanuel Makandiwa.
“We do not rely by what those who are after building their own kingdoms do and their eloquence in speech but the power for the kingdom of God is not in word, but in power,” said Pastor Timburwa.
Pastor Timburwa urged people to adopt a spirit of discernment warning them over church leaders who weaken worshippers to please their self-ambitions.
After sharing his message he thanked God in prayer, asked Minister Michael Mahendere to sing a song and laid his hands on the sick.
Over a thousand people turned to God and pastor Timburwa promised to visit their homes for total deliverance after many claimed to have received their healing.
Among the people who attended the prayer was Member of Parliament Dexter Nduna, local school heads, captains of industries and illegal gold miners.
Apart from Minister Michael Mahendere, Tinashe Magacha, Kudakwashe Mutsvene, Freeman, Thulani Dete and Sesifikile dance group provided entertainment before Pastor Timburwa opened Holy Scriptures.
