MIGHTY Warriors midfielder Danai Bhobho is in celebratory mood after her new club Simba SC Queens were crowned Tanzania Women Premier League Champions.
Simba Queens defeated Baobao Queens in Dodoma to win Tanzania Women’s’ League title and have managed to defend their title, after winning their first one last season.
Simba won the title on 54 points, only one above Yanga Princess.
“It feels great to be a champion.
“Coming here I wanted to win trophies and I’m happy I have managed to do so. I am so excited that my dream has been fulfilled.
“I have won the title when I recently joined the club, I didn’t really did much but I’m looking forward to do put more in the champions league and the upcoming league. I am looking forward to win more during my tenure here.’’
Bhobho said she has enjoyed her season though she joined the club later and her wish is to see more local female footballers in competitive leagues.
“I enjoy the time I had so far. It wasn’t done until the final, I’m proud for contributing in winning the league.
“In as much as I feel the joy, my wish is to see more Mighty Warriors in competitive leagues. It is possible if we give coverage like that of men’s league. I do believe that with enough coverage, with local women’s league being broadcasted more girls will end up in competitive leagues. We do have talent in the country if it is really followed up,” said Bhobho.
