PREMIERSHIP new boys, Simba Bhora, have struck a fuel sponsorship deal with Cranrid Petroleum.
Cranrid Petroleum is owned by a businessman, Peter Mauchi, and will provide fuel for the Shamva-based side for the 2023 season.
Mauchi stressed that he would not hesitate to assist the club in other areas should the need arise.
He said he was inspired by the club’s president Simba “Buju” Ndoro’s vision to put Mashonaland Central on the sporting map.
“It’s not like someone sat down with me and convinced me and my crew to support this initiative.
“But, I just saw every reason to support Ndoro for his efforts to make the province a better place for its people,” said Mauchi.
“Trust me, in Zimbabwe, you can never count profits, but Ndoro’s determination in giving back to his province is praiseworthy.
“As someone who is also doing business in the province, I just felt challenged and it’s something which everyone is talking about.
“We want Simba Bhora to have longevity in the PSL, as everyone in the province is excited about this project, particularly in Shamva.
“I’m also urging other stakeholders in the province to come on board and play their part because the project is now the face of our province.
“We need to support our brother Ndoro and assist him in taking this thing to another level.”
Ndoro hailed Mauchi’s support.
“I’m happy that we have secured this deal,” said Ndoro.
“When you embark on a project, you’re never sure if people will support your vision or not, but when someone from the province, where I grew up decides to come on board, it just gives you a different feeling.
“As Simba Bhora, we are willing to work with anyone who shares our vision.
“We still have other deals which we are finalising and it’s all in the best interest of the people of Mashonaland Central.”
It had been speculated that Brighton “Panjab” Ushendibaba could also strike a partnership deal with Simba Bhora.
