ORGANISERS of  “Mafikizolo Back in Town Concert” have urged female fans to wear black doeks in solidarity with those killed, injured and displaced in the xenophobic attacks across the Limpopo.

Blessing Jeke of Proma Events said they show to be headlined by the top  South African outfit – Mafikizolo – will go according to plan  but they were sympathizing with victims of the attacks.

“The show is still on but have decided to use the platform to speak with one voice against xenophobia.

“All the artistes in the line-up have been sending videos denouncing xenophobia and we are going to hold a studio session where all the artistes will their voices.

“Mafikizolo members who are coming to Zimbabwe on Friday will also take part on the production of the song.

“We will then take the campaign further at HICC on later that night where all the artistes in the line-up will speak with one voice,” he said.

Jeke said they were ready to donate proceeds of their revenue to victims of xenophobia.

“Part of the proceeds will be channelled to victims of xenophobia and we are really touched by the occuraences in South Africa,” he added.

Local artistes led by Suluman Chimbetu, Gemma Griffi Griffiths, Selmor Mtukudzi, Andy Muridzo, Tocky Vibes, Sasha Amadhuve and Congolese rhumba star Pitshou Lumiere are some of the local acts set to perform at the event.
