Boxing Champion Brendon ‘Boika’ Denes has promised fireworks ahead of his WBO global welterweight title fight against Namibian Mikka Shonena on Saturday.
Boika, a Charles Manyuchi Boxing Academy athlete and his team are already in Namibia where the fight is set to take place.
“I’m actually doing some final touches with my coach (Ali ‘Otto’ Phiri).
“I’m ready for the fight. I’m just trying to put my things in order. Today (Wednesday we have gone for the medical and just waiting for the results but all the same I am very fit and just waiting for the match on Saturday,” he said.
Boika has vowed to make his fans happy after the match.
“I’m hoping to bring the belt home although it’s going to be a tough match.
“My opponent has a very clean boxing record of 16 wins so it is going to be a great bout.”
Boika was last in action in February when he participated at the Olympics qualifiers and won all three matches he played.
Standing on eight all win with four knockouts, Boika is facing Shonena who stands on 16 fights all wins with three knockouts.
