BOXING champion Brendon ‘Boika’ Denes coach Ali “Otto” Phiri says preparations for his boxer’s fight against Mikka Shonena are going on well and they ready for the fight.
Denes, 25, is facing 32 year-old Namibian Shonena in a WBO global welterweight title fight on December 12 in Namibia.
“We are happy with the preparations. The boxer (Boika) is pushing hard and is ready for the fight, the morale is very high and we are looking forward to the best game,” Otto told H-Metro.
“We have been in camp for the past two weeks and we have had the opportunity of having other boxers coming in to help him. We are so ready for the match and we will bring back the belt.”
Otto and his team are set to leave on December 6.
Boika was last in action in February when he participated at the Olympics qualifiers, winning all three matches. Standing on eight all win with four knockouts, Boika is facing Shonena who stands on 16 fights all wins with three knockouts.
