Warriors have received a major boost ahead of the 2021 Afcon qualifiers against Botswana and Zambia next week following the issuance of Zimbabwean passports to England-based players Macauley Bonne and Adam Chicksen.
Bonne, who turns for Charlton Athletic in the English Championship, has been yearning to play for Zimbabwe and is expected to bring the cutting edge up front.
Chicksen, a fullback at Bolton Wanderers, will bring competition into the Warriors set up.
Manager Wellington Mpandare described the development as positive.
“We have been working to make sure these guys are eligible to play for Zimbabwe. I am happy we finally got their passports.
“The focus now shifts to others whom the coaches would have selected,” said Mpandare.
Zimbabwe face Botswana at the National Sports Stadium on November 15.
They travel to face Zambia away four days later.
