. . . week after getting passport

Warriors have been dealt a huge blow ahead of their 2021 Afcon qualifiers against Botswana and Zambia after Charlton Athletic striker Macauley Bonne pulled out.
Bonne sent his medical reports, which show that he was scheduled for a Cardiac MRI appointment yesterday.
He was part of coach Joey Antipas’s final squad once he secured a Zimbabwean passport last week.
Bonne’s withdrawal comes days after another striker, Tino Kadewere, was ruled out due to injury.
Warriors manager Wellington Mpandare confirmed the development.
“Bonne is no longer coming. There will be no replacements,” he said.
In his statement, Bonne said:
“I am both delighted and privileged to be selected to join the Zimbabwean national team and I appreciate all those involved I securing my passport. I’ve been working extremely hard at club level and to receive this, is something I dreamed of as a boy.
“Unfortunately and reluctantly, I am unable to travel due to unforeseen medical grounds, which is a huge frustration to me, as it will be to the people of Zimbabwe.
“The message of support via social media are very much appreciated and although I cannot reply to every message, I do take every one to heart.
“I’d like to wish the entire Zimbabwe team the very best of luck in the coming games. In the meantime, I will maintain a line of communication to Welly Mpandare and the ZIFA representatives,” read the statement.
