A PHYSICALLY challenged musician has received a career boost after getting instruments from a well-wisher.
Stellah Jongwe of Hopley Farm yesterday received Mbira and Marimba instruments to enhance her career courtesy of Mariane Decher Trust, represented by Kelvin Chikumbirike.
Kelvin said he decided to give Stellar the instruments so as to support her passion for music.
“Stellah was one of my students whom l used to teach to play Mbira and Marimba at Jairosi Jiri.
“She was one of the best students and l decided to donate the Marimba and Mbira so that she can pursue her music career,” said Kelvin.
Kelvin said he believed in her talent and if she is to get exposure she would become a well-established artist.
“That girl has got talent and if she gets exposure she will become an established artist.
“She plays Mbira and Marimba well,” he added.
Stellah told H-Metro that she was happy to receive the instruments.
“I am glad about the kind gesture that my former teacher showed.
“I finished high school last year and l did not have these instruments as I used the ones belong to the school.
“These instruments will help me much in my music career,” said Stellah.
She added she is now starting to compose her own songs.
“I now working on writing my songs and I hope I will find someone who will help me to record them,” she added.
