ONLY the football gods have a better explanation of how and why Highlanders and Black Mambas have racked the same number of points after 18 fixtures.
Bosso are enjoying an unbeaten start to the Premiership season while Black Mambas are making a good account of themselves in the race to secure the ZIFA Northern Region Division One Soccer League championship.
Unbeaten so far in their respective campaigns, both teams have recorded 10 wins and eight draws in their opening 18 matches and they have conceded four goals each.
The only difference comes in front of goal as Black Mambas have netted more goals (20) than Bosso who have managed 15.
In the Premiership, Highlanders’ closest rivals, Ngezi Platinum Stars, are five points off the mark while in the Northern Region Division One, Harare City are trailing Black Mambas by three points.
Black Mambas coach, John “Toto” Ncube told Zimpapers Sports Hub that it’s a miracle that his men are in charge of the title marathon.

He revealed that his pre-season target was to secure a top five position and build a team that will challenge for PSL status next season.
“Honestly, I’m still surprised with where we are at the moment because it never crossed my mind that we will be at this position at this stage of the season,” said Ncube.
“I have to give it to my boys, they have been exceptional in all departments and they are now believing that we can win the championship.
“At the start of the season, I told my boys and everyone at the club that our target is to finish in the top five and for a moment it also seemed like a big task but here we are.”
He added: “I think winning the championship this season will be enough to restore everyone’s confidence.
“We are not under pressure and we have a youthful squad but I have a feeling that this is our season and we have to keep moving.”
