HIGHLANDERS will, for the umpteenth time this season, plunge into a crucial match without a full squad after the trio of Mvelo Khoza, Prince Ndlovu and Nigel Banda were called up for the 2024 COSAFA Cosafa Cup tournament.
Bosso are set to meet league leaders and favourites Simba Bhora in a Chibuku Super Cup quarter-final at Wadzanai on Sunday.
“In terms of preparations, we have good news and some sad news,” said coach Kelvin Kaindu.
“The good news is that Raphael Pitisi (goalkeeper) is back.
“The sad news, which is somehow like good news, is that three of our players have been called to be with the national Under-20 team.
“They travelled with the national team which is, somehow, a disadvantage for us in terms of team selection. However, in football you have to work with what you have.”
He also revealed that leftback Archford Faira and midfielder Marvin Sibanda were still yet to regain full fitness.
Faira and Sibanda have been out of the squad in the past few weeks.
Simba Bhora are yet to taste defeat at Wadzanai this season.
Takesure Chiragwi’s Ngezi Platinum Stars will tomorrow host high-flying CAPS United at Baobab.
Ngezi eliminated Bulawayo Chiefs while the Green Machine booted out Bikita Minerals.
Jairos Tapera’s Manica Diamonds will battle FC Platinum at Sakubva.
The Gem Boys recently edged their opponents 1-0 in a league match at Mandava.
