BOTSWANA-BASED reggae dancehall artist, Amith “Mr Konscious” Muchecheterwa, has praised dancehall musician Freeman for allowing him to feature on his new album.
Freeman launched his 13th track album, titled Trophy, over the weekend.
The 29-year-old said he feels honoured after he played a part in the song, Usandisiye.
“I wrote the whole concept and Freeman said he has never done a song yakanyorwa na someone because I write songs for many Zim top artists.
“So, he asked me to give it a try, akati ‘wakaipa mfanami.’
“So Freeman edited here and there to put his vibes and also he added other lines.
“I am happy that track is gaining momentum on social media,” he said.
Mr Konscious started writing music in 2011, when he was doing his Form Four at Chisangano High School in Hwedza.
“I recorded my first song titled Tiri Mawiper in 2012 at Dawn Straight Records in Epworth by producer Alicious.
“In 2014, I then moved to Botswana for greener pastures where I am still doing great, especially in stage performances sharing the stage with every Botswana-booked Zimbabwean artist.”
He has done a song titled, Home is the Best, which featured The Comic Pastor in the video.
“I also joined hands with Black Warrior HKD and Cymplex Music on his most air-played song titled Zvinoitika which also became my big step forward.
“So far, I have worked with producers like Cymplex Music, SimpleSolid Records, and Alicious.”
His manager, Munashe ‘Hazard’ Mutungwazi said, he was impressed by Mr Konscious’ musical journey.
“Mr Konscious is doing well and I am working on his new music to be released anytime soon.
“Recently, he did a song dedicated to Themba Gorimbo, which went viral on social media, and there are plans of visuals when Themba returns from the US.”
