POLICE have arrested a 15-year-old boy in Nyabira who allegedly killed a 22-year-old man.
Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi, the police national spokesperson, confirmed the arrest.
“Police in Nyabira have arrested a 15-year-old male juvenile who allegedly killed a man (22) after he struck the victim once on the head with a brick during a fist fight at Jonga Farm Compound,” Asst Comm Nyathi said.
“The victim sustained a deep cut on the head and was referred to Banket District Hospital where he passed on while admitted at the institution.”
Asst Comm Nyathi said police were also investigating cases of unlawful entry into premises and theft which occurred in Bulawayo.
“An unknown suspect broke into a shop along Jason Moyo Street, Bulawayo CBD, and stole 21 laptops valued at US$28 000,” Ass Comm Nyathi said.
“Anyone with information, which may lead to the arrest of the suspects and recovery of the stolen property, to contact any nearest police.”
Meanwhile, the police are investigating a robbery case that occurred near Pamvura Lodge, along Harare-Mvurwi Road.
“Three unknown male suspects, who were using an unidentified vehicle, attacked two men who had parked their vehicle, a DAF truck, near the lodge for recess,” said Asst Comm Nyathi. The suspects threatened the complainants with an unidentified pistol and one of them grabbed a satchel containing US$17 300 and an A22 Samsung cellphone from the truck, and drove away in their getaway vehicle.”
The ZRP also confirmed the arrest of Brighton Marange (30), Devine Mulaudzi (20) and Ronald Madovoyo (19), in connection with a case of attempted murder in Zezani, Beitbridge.
“The suspects, who were armed with knobkerries and a pistol, allegedly attacked a family in a robbery attempt, and shot two complainants before fleeing the scene after one of the victims charged towards them,” said Ass Comm Nyathi.
“A CPVENA ZASTAVA pistol and a black hunter’s torch were recovered from the suspects’ Honda Fit vehicle.
“One of the suspects is being linked to a robbery case, in which a South Africa-bound MBT bus, was robbed at the 60km peg along Masvingo-Beitbridge Road recently.”
