Blessing Malinganiza and Tadious Manyepo in RWANDA
THERE is disgruntlement in the Warriors camp with the players threatening to boycott this afternoon’s training over unpaid allowances.
The team is in Rwanda where they are preparing for their second match of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Nigeria at Huye Stadium in Butare on Sunday.
They drew their opening game against Rwanda at the same venue yesterday.
But the players are disgruntled with the non payment of their daily allowances by the ZIFA Normalisation Committee, who have carried a bloated staff complement to Rwanda.
The players are also demanding something for the draw against Rwanda with reports that the ZIFA NC only wanted to pay US$2000 for a win and nothing for a draw.
It has emerged that the players never agreed to such an arrangement.
Currently members of the ZIFA NC are in a marathon meeting presumably to resolve the matter.
The team was supposed to leave the hotel at 2pm but players remained in their rooms while coach Baltemar Brito had been on the bus for about 45 minutes before disembarking.
