ALL-FEMALE gospel outfit, Breeze Music Group, is celebrating 15 years in the music industry in style.
Assembled in 2007, the group’s main objective was to promote the girl child.
After releasing a series of singles over the years, Breeze Music Group will be launching their third album, titled Afro Breeze, tomorrow at the 7 Arts Theatre in Avondale.
The launch will be attended by different artists, including Past G, Baba Manyeruke, Fusion 5 Mangwiro, among other supporting acts.
The group’s director, Advocate Nyaradzo Maphosa, said all was going according to plans.
“This is our third album after we released Hosanna in 2014, which won ZIMA for Best Acapella.
“Then, in 2017, we released Breeze Story and now this third album which has many genres.
“We are just showing versatility that we can totally sing in any genre.
“Give us afro fusion, jazz, mhande, traditional gospel we are good to go,” she said.
Nyaradzo said they went full circle and engaged various groups.
“This is to show our versatility, we had fun in creating different songs with different producers.
“We had Oskid, Dr Tawanda, Puro Di Best, who were showing off their best strengths.
“Even on videos we have creative videographers. Our fans should be looking forward to both the music and videos.”
The group has since won many awards for their great artistry.
“This is our first year anniversary, we started Breeze in 2007 in March, can you believe it, we are celebrating a long contribution in the music industry?
“We are the only girl band in Zimbabwe, probably, which won the Zima award.
“We have been nominated several times in different categories.
“We had a lot of support from corporates, the Ministry and it’s going to be amazing.
“It will be a night of fun, celebrating about who are we as Africans.
“We recommend African attire,” she added.
