GREENFUEL coach Rodwell Dhlakama has set sights on reuniting with championship-winning midfielder Bruno Mtigo, who was with Ngezi Platinum last season.

Dhlakama and Mtigo worked together at Ngezi where the midfielder would, at times, be deployed as a central striker and scored many goals in the 2022 Chibuku Super Cup.

Greenfuel have already made several acquisitions to bolster their squad.

They have acquired the services of Nedrick Madeya, Godwin Goriati, Anelka Chivandire, Luke Musikiri and Learnmore Muyambo.

Jerry Chipangura quit before kicking a ball at the club due to personal reasons.

Mtigo is already training with the club.

“We have Bruno Mtigo, who we are assessing and trying to secure,” said club chairman Fredson Moyo.

“I believe he will be a good addition to the squad and will bring a lot of depth and experience.

“We haven’t secured his signature yet but we are all assured that all will go well, the deal is almost done.

“Unfortunately, we received a big blow after Jerry Chipangura resigned due to some personal reasons.

“You know life brings unseen things and this one was such a case and we found it worth it for the two sides to have mutual separation.”

Moyo is optimistic that the club will have a better season this year.

“We are confident enough that this year we will be a better outfit compared to last season.

“You know we started in the relegation zone and forced our way out until we attained position 10.

“As a club, we feel we are going to be more competitive and be more composed.

“We have improved on several things using the experience we gained last season.

He added:

“Now the focus is on us getting our stadium homologated by the ZIFA FBI. We have already invited them through PSL and we are expecting them soon.

“I am sure the dressing rooms, the pitch, and everything of concern are in good shape.”
