Zion Christian Church (ZCC) leader Bishop Nehemiah Mutendi has urged people to conduct Easter celebrations in their homes to prevent COVID-19.

Bishop Mutendi said this yesterday while leading prayers at State House where President Mnangagwa was launching the National COVID-19 Preparedness and Response plan.

He urged the world to move from God fearing to God seeking to fight the pandemic that has taken lives in most parts of the world.

“Let the world know that God is more prepared than anyone else in the world and has appointed his Son Jesus Christ that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life,” said Bishop Mutendi.

“It will come to pass that anyone who calls the name of Jesus Christ will be saved and God forewarned the world about this pandemic in the book of Isiah 14 verses 31 and 32.

“Chema iwe suo, danidzira iwe guta; wanyauka iwe nyika yose nokuti kurutivi rwokumusoro kunobva utsi, hapana anotiza pahondo dzake.

“God sent us the answer to the pandemic in that ZION, the name of Jesus Christ will be our refuge and anyone who call upon his name will be saved.

“We have doctors and the learned in various countries but God is the answer to this issue and with that in mind let all churches celebrate Easter in their homes to prevent COVID-19.

“Tichagezana tsoka mudzimba dzedu for this virus has brought the whole world in humanity and shut down everything and does not know any colour or creed and let the world put their faith in God.

“It will be a historic Easter and we are prepared to partake it in our homes. Hapana rimwe zita pasi pezuva ratichaponeswa naro kunze kwezita raJesu Kristo.

“God has made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth and has determined the times before appointed and the bounds of their habitation,” said Bishop Mutendi.

He thanked President Mnangagwa for leading the nation in prayer for God’s divine intervention to fight COVID-19.

The launch was attended by government Ministers, traditional chiefs, clergymen and ambassadors of various nations.
