CANADA-BASED Zimbabwean musician-cum-producer, Michael “MicYunging” Matewe, says his life experiences motivate him to release music.
He said his daughter was also an inspiration when he is writing music.
MicYunging is set to release his second album titled Mavambo on November 11.
The album was named after his daughter Genesis.
“So, most of my music is based on my life. Whenever I’m going through something (good or bad) that is when I’m inspired to compose something about it.
“Like the time I got separated from my ex-wife, I made a song about it and dedicated the song to my daughter telling her how she is not the reason for the break-up.
“I have a song in progress with more detailed lyrics about the situation with my daughter where I’m fighting for my rights to be part of my child’s life.
“So, things like that move me so much to create something original and hence I end up pouring my emotions on the songs,” he said.
MicYunging first burst onto the music scene with his debut album, Harmonious Beginnings, which was released in 2022.
The album received critical acclaim for its unique blend of genres, heartfelt lyrics and Micyunging’s soulful voice.
“I can’t thank my fans enough for their unwavering support.
“This album is a labour of love and I’ve poured my heart and soul into every song. It’s a reflection of my growth as an artist and as a person and I can’t wait to share it with the world.”
The album is being produced by Golden_Fingers, KanaBoy, QuaZor and MicYunging.
The songs were composed by Golden_Fingers, SolutionGC and MicYunging.
“Music is the canvas where my emotions paint stories and this album is my masterpiece. Get ready to embark on a journey through sound and soul, as we dive into the heart of my music.”
The artist will also be releasing a video on October 5.
