CAPS United have pledged to help their injured midfielder Ronald Chitiyo to undergo an operation in Zambia early next month.
Chitiyo was involved in a car accident late last year and sustained a knee injury that has side-lined him from the game.
Caps United spokesperson Cuthbert Chitima confirmed the pledge but could not disclose the amount of money they are budgeting towards Chitiyo’s surgery.
“Chitiyo is our child and it is our responsibility to help him.
“It hurts to see such a talent drowning. He is a quality player and national team player who deserves to get help from the nation not just Caps United,” Chitima said.
Fears are the delays made could mean the playing failing to recover his quality or worse.
“My boss and I had a meeting about his issue and we have already done a quotation on his operation, I think in about two weeks from now his money will be ready and he will leave the country and go for his operation in either Zambia or South Africa,” Chitima said.
CAPS United face Black Rhinos at Rufaro on Saturday.
