Glen Norah B’s popular joint, KwaFarai, will this Saturday host a first of its kind Castle Lager Braai Festival micro event ahead of the two-day national fete next month.
The event will coincide with a similar event at Chitungwiza’s paChikwanha as organisers move in to localise the event in meeting consumer demands.
The main event has been slated for October 25 and 26 at Old Hararians Sports Club.
In a statement, Delta corporate affairs executive, Patricia Murambinda said the micro events are expected to bring local people together.
“Castle lager as the flagship lager beer brand for Delta Beverages is giving all braai lovers a platform to come together and set their own record braaiing, enjoy their favourite lager whilst listening to good music on the day,” she said.
Similar micro events have already kicked off in Kadoma at Speedway and Chinhoyi’s Christos Bar.
After the Harare date, the micro events head to Mutare’s Villa Spot on September 28, Gweru (5,0ctober), Bulawayo (12, October) and will be end in Masvingo on October 19.
When the national event was last held at Alex Sports Club in 2017, more than 16 000 people converged and consumed at least 15 132kgs of meat.
Organisers say this year’s national braai day will be bigger and better.
“We are calling all braai patrons of all popular braai spot areas in and around Harare to come and enjoy their favorite braai at Old Hararians Sports Club on the 25th and 26th of October 2019.
“We have doubled the fun and doubled activities for our consumers of Castle lager and the event is now bigger, better and we promise a lot of excitement,” she said.
The amount of meat consumed during the countrywide micro activations will be matched and added to the National Braai Day by Delta.
