CELLPHONE thieves had a field day at the Redefined Concert at the Harare International Conference Centre on Saturday night.

Scores of fans, who attended the sold-out concert headlined by heavyweights Jah Prayzah and Winky D, said they lost their cellphones to the marauding thieves.

Thieves have been targeting such hugeV musical shows and they steal wallets and cellphones.

One of the people, who lost their cellphone, told H-Metro:

“A guy approached me during Jah Prayzah’s set making unwanted physical contact. Despite efforts to push the individual away, the thief managed to snatch my phone and swiftly disappeared into the crowd.”

Another fan, whose phone was stolen at the entrance during a commotion, said:

“I was having a moment outside and the phone was stolen on my way back to the entrance.

“At that moment there was commotion at the door and the security was strict.”

Many of those who lost their gadgets said the thieves launched waves of coordinated attacks and many syndicates were operating during the night.

“These guys have become specialists in what they do and their operations are well coordinated.

“It appears they mostly target women but a lot of men also complained that they lost their cellphones during the concert.”

However, it was not all doom and gloom.

The majority of the thousands of fans, whose wallets and gadgets were not stolen, had a good night as all the artists gave their best.
