In an interview with H-Metro, Pastor G said the secret behind his success was his passion to do God’s work.

“The secret behind it all is a personal relationship with God.

“I do not sing gospel music just for the sake of singing it, I sing because of my relationship with God who is my personal Lord and Saviour,” he said.

Pastor G said in all his time in the music industry, he has been facing challenges, which made him strong.

“The only challenges I have encountered are macro-economic with the current economic situation.

“There are now less resources, sponsorship and capacity to do bigger things.

“However I am grateful to God for these challenges because they have taught me to trust in him more and he always makes a way,” he said.

Pastor G also saluted some of the heroes that inspired him.

“I want to give credit to the likes of the late Brian Sibalo, Charles Charamba, Fortune Muparutsa the late among others who I have looked up to since I started singing gospel music,” he added.

Asked what inspired him to do his latest two songs – Ishe Komborera and Mweya Mutsvene – he said that it came as a prophetic instruction.

“It all came about as a prophetic instruction through an intercessor who had been praying for a long time and God told him to find me and share with me the vision to do these songs.

“God wanted to use these two songs to revive the nation of Zimbabwe that is the prayer life, shifting from an atmosphere of hopelessness to hope, trauma to triumph, failure to faith and crisis to Christ,” he said.

Pastor G mentioned the coming of another album soon.

“There is an album that is definitely coming out soon and a live DVD coming out some time in April.

“Am even going to do a collection of Pastor G songs.

“I am also releasing an album with the group that I am mentoring called One Heart Worship.”
