An array of chanters has combined forces on a riddim titled Elder Shambare aimed at honouring popular promoter, business man and philanthropist Paul “Elder” Shambare for his involvement in the arts industry.

The riddim, which was recorded by DJ Inno of Darksound Studios, features both upcoming and seasoned chanters.

Some of the names on this riddim include Kinnah, T Gonzi, Hwindi Prezident, Kabhidha, Silent Killer, Jah Child, Dely Boy and Wero Wero.

Horror, Kunyani, Lucas Green, X Fire, Breezy Sox, Chigogodera, Jah Noz, Ras Lalo and Asian Black featuring Fell Yut are part of the bill.

In an interview, the Express Cargo and Entertainment boss Elder Shambare hailed all the chanters who appreciated him on this riddim.

“The riddim came out as an appreciation from the ghetto yutes whom I continue supporting and also as an appreciation to my contributions to the arts industry.

“Several chanters have put their voices denouncing abuse of drugs and other social evils, that’s a positive step to me.

“Our plan was to hold at least two big gigs as a token of appreciation however, it seems impossible due to the induced lockdowns and Covid-19 restrictions which we have to respect.

“I shall continue to support artists and perhaps organising online shows so that they continue to benefit during these trying times,” he said.

Elder Shambare who turns a year older next month said the celebrations this year will be different.

“I am turning a year older next month, traditionally I have held gigs in celebration but since the pandemic hit hard I am expected to do a small celebration with vulnerable people especially the disabled people from Victoria Falls where I stay.

“I have celebrated my birthday with them in the past.

“This year I have a lot to celebrate because I am now a confirmed holder of an Honorary Ambassadorship and holder of three doctorates from the International Institute of Philanthropy, International Women’s University and Mavereck University.

“So my new title is Dr Shambare,” he said.

He added:

“The honorary doctorates have been awarded to me as a result of my contribution to the humanity and business acumen.

“I now have a doctorate in Humane Letters, doctorate of Business Leadership and Entrepreneurship.

“I was also given a Golden Man of Honour Award in the Philanthropy and Professional-Megafest awards last year.

“Same year I scooped businessman of the year 2020 in the category of Transport and Shipping logistics.

“My company Express Cargo won the same category at the Prestigious National Zimbabwe Business Awards.

“I was recently nominated again for the National Man of Honour Award to be held soon.”

Meanwhile, Elder Shambare is taking the riddim to the people through online shows.

He is popular with the ghetto yutes and he is a businessman who is based in Victoria Falls.

“On business side we are trying to stand firm on the ground, up and downs are the order of the day but we stand resolute as well as optimistic for better days ahead.

“Covid-19 has affected us big time also in all spheres of our business like all other players,” he said.
