FOLLOWING their victory over FC Platinum in the Chibuku Super Cup, Chapungu are confident that they will extend their unbeaten run in the league as they face Chicken Inn tomorrow.

Chapungu coach Rodwell Dhlakama believes only perseverance can help them to attain their goals.

“All teams in the league can play and win this cup we all have equal chances, eliminating FC Platinum will not make us champions. Hard work, and determination can only take us far. It is because we were better team on the day that is how we won,” said Dhlakama.

“We are playing well at the moment, credit to the players and other coaching staff of Clement Zuze and Clemence Mugari,” he added.

Dhlakama hopes to carry on with their form when they face the gamecocks.

Chapungu are in the relegation matrix and have to pick points in their remaining matches to survive the chop.

“We only lost once in the past eleven games, against the same opponent we eliminated in the cup, we hope to continue with the momentum going forward.

“We are still fighting relegation but we have hope that we will do well going forward,” said Dhlakama.

He, however, lamented fatigue ahead of the game having played FC Platinum in the Chibuku Super Cup on Saturday.

“It’s not an easy game because fatigue is now crippling in the players. We just need to work hard, manage energy levels in our remaining games so that we go and play with the same enthusiasm and zeal.

“Chicken Inn are one of the best assembled teams in the league, we don’t doubt their capability and their position on the log standings speaks volumes.

“It`s an uphill task for us but we still need maximum points to easy relegation worries,” said Dhlakama.
