Amazulu winger Talent Chawapiwa says his target for this season is to better himself as a player.

Speaking to H-Metro the Warriors star reckons he is ready for the season in the ABSA which starts next week.

“I want to play more games and we are also targeting to be at a better position as a team.

“My aim is to better myself and be a better and improved player than who I was,” he said.

The star who joined from Baroka last season has described his stay at Amazulu as enjoyable.

“My stay here has been amazing and I have enjoyed every moment of it.

“Playing against certain teams makes you a better player and you will also be forced to bring the best in you because they are challenging.

“For me I am enjoying and taking advantage of the opportunity of proving myself to the coach and other people who look up to me,” he said.

He added:

“I am also aiming to work extra hard so that I can be recognized and maybe to keep on getting national team call ups.

“And like any other player my wish is that I get a chance to play in Europe.

“And regarding my wish for the club is that as a team our objective is to finish off at better position than where we finished last season, I can’t really say which position but better position than last season.

“But I want to make sure that I contribute to the team’s targets.

“Looking at the squad we have, it’s strong to compete. So we will compete as much as we can.

“I would love to win the league one more time if God permits so I will leave that to hard work, prayer and belief it is possible,” he said.

Chawapiwa says he believes in coach Cavin Johnson.

“Johnson is a good coach and I have learnt a lot from him since I joined this team.

“And I believe I will continue to learn a lot from him during my stay here.

“I believe he is someone who can dedicate his time and energy on improving each player. And I have enjoyed working with him,” he said.
