AMAZULU and Warriors star Talent Chawapiwa says he is working on keeping fit until the season resumes.
The Absa Premiership, just like the rest of the world, suspended action due to the deadly coronavirus pandemic.
And Chawapiwa told H-Metro from his base in South Africa that things will no longer be the same when the season resumes.
Sporting events will only resume when coronavirus recedes and the uncertainty over the timeframe is also worrying the speedy winger.
“We are not training right now but we have a home gym programme and each person does his home programme.
“So I think that will help me keep fit as we wait on training to resume.
“Though I’m not really worried about all that right now because safety comes first. “Even though we might miss playing our health and fans were under threat so I understand and I support the suspension.
“This virus is deadly and it must be taken serious that is why I said it’s a good decision to suspend football,” he said.
He added: “Even though coming back is not going to be the same again it’s like starting preseason again.
“Because we are not playing and even the training alone is not enough, it’s different from when we are at the ground with the technical team.
“But so far l’m happy with how I am doing alone. I’m doing all I can to make sure that I stay fit.
Chawapiwa also encouraged people to stay safe.
“Here we are on locked down and we are staging at home. We have maintained social distance and be safe.
“If everyone manages to do that then we will all be safe from this virus. And I want to wish everyone who is infected a speedy recovery. I urge everyone to be cautious and follow the steps so that we will fight this virus together,” he said.
