THE Chevrons will not make any movement on the ICC ODI Team Rankings should they win the series against Bangladesh but the tour will be crucial in making sure Zimbabwe obtain the competitive edge and results.
Zimbabwe will be looking to stitch up some good performances commencing with the One Day warm-up match against the BCB XI at Savar this morning.
This warm up match will be the perfect dress rehearsal of the ODI series which commences this Sunday in Dhaka while other two games will be at Chittagong on October 24 and 26.
Bangladesh has proven to be a tough tour for Zimbabwe, and other notable nations, in the past decade but visitors are expected to take the challenge to the hosts and redeem their lost pride.
On the ICC ODI Team Rankings, the Chevrons are on 11th position with 53 points while the Tigers are on seventh place with 92 points.
What Zimbabwe will gain more will be rating points that will obviously come courtesy of good performances and results.
Zimbabwe could earn as many as five rating points, which will take them to 58 points, should they whitewash Bangladesh 3-0 in the series. A 2-1 series victory will see Zimbabwe get six points to be on 56 points.
However, if Bangladesh are to win the series 2-1, Zimbabwe will earn one point to go onto 54 points with the hosts drop to 90 points.
A 3-0 series win for Bangladesh will see them get to 93 points while Zimbabwe will actually lose a point to drop to 52 points.
