Top dancehall recording studio, Chilspot Records, has released a riddim compilation that has been dedicated as a prayer for the ongoing Coronavirus (Covid-19).
Titled Rematare riddim, talented chanters like Nutty O, Ras Caleb, Gemma Griffiths and Enzo Ishall featured on the protect set to hold its own.
Nutty O’s Jehova musatisiye, Ras Caleb’s Zviratidzo zvenguva, Gemma’s Titungamire and Enzo’s Gara une mwenje are some of the refreshing singles of the compilation.
Levels produced the beat.
Speaking to H-Metro, DJ Fantan of Chillspot Records said the compilation was more of prayer.
“Rematare riddim is our prayer from Chillspot in conjunction with the artistes about the situation Zimbabwe and the rest of the world is faced with.
“We are living in serious and dangerous times and we alone cannot do it ourselves.
“We need the intervention, protection and guidance of the Lord through these trying times.
“Coronavirus is a very serious pandemic that needs us to work as one but under the guidance of the Holy Spirit,” he said.
Fantan added that they are taking precautionary measures at their studio.
“We are now recording strictly on bookings as we are trying to decongest the studio.
“Artists now come to record at prescribed times.
“There are no more big numbers of artistes allowed in the studio at one go and we have sanitisers in place.
“We urge Zimbabweans to stay safe at this time,” he added.
