DYNAMOS goalkeeper Simbarashe Chinani was the hero of the day after he saved two penalties against Herentals to secure his team a slot in the Chibuku Super Cup semi finals.
DeMbare won 5-4 on penalties as Chinani saved an Edgar Mhungu effort to deny the new boys victory.
The save was critical as it was a decider for their opponents after Emmanuel Mandiranga had missed an opener for DeMbare, hitting the upright.
“I am so happy that l managed to do my part and made sure that my team goes into the next round.
“It feels great, l am just happy and so is everyone. I just told myself that l can do this and l thank God that l manage to pull through,” he said.
““I am happy that l managed to deliver what was expected of me as a player.
“I want to promise that the best is yet to come. I also think that winning and playing this game has boosted our confidence as a team,” he said
Chinani added that it is his wish to see his team being crowned this year’s Chibuku champions.
“Regarding this tournament, I can’t say much but what’s important was going to the next round and we did that. After this game we will be just taking each game as it come.
“Though it is my wish to be crowned Chibuku champions since we are no longer in the title race,” he said.
