DYNAMOS legend Stanley Chirambadare was on Thursday released on ZWL$5 000 bail by the High Court.

Chirambadare is facing charges of aggravated indecent assault on a teenage boy aligned to his Mufakose football academy.

The ex-footballer, who began his bail bid at the apex court on Tuesday, was also asked to surrender his travel documents and to report once a month at a police station.

Justice Webster Chinamora granted the appeal before ordering him not to interfere with witness including that he resides at his given address until the matter is finalized.

Chirambadare was arrested last week for allegedly sexually abusing the boy who had visited his residence along Mukonono Road in Mufakose where he had called him to clean his house in exchange for sweets.

Through his lawyer, Knowledge Maeresera, Chirambadare had approached the High Court where he made his application in terms of section 117 of the Criminal Procedure and Evidence Act.

He had been asked to approach the High Court by Harare magistrate Dennis Mangosi.

According to the State, the boy used to visit Chirambadare’s place in the company of his friend, but on the day in question he went alone.

After cleaning the house, Chirambadare allegedly called the boy to his bedroom where he said he wanted to give him the sweets.

It is further alleged that when the boy entered the room, Chirambadare grabbed him before sexually abusing him.

Chirambadare is yet to plead to the charges.

He is expected back in court on May 13 for routine remand.
