Chitungwiza mayor Lovemore Maiko yesterday said council had embarked on training first line healthcare members like Chitungwiza Hospital, CityMed Hospital and Manyame Hospital on how to prevent the spread of Corona Virus.
Addressing members of the public yesterday at Chitungwiza Municipality on how they intend to curb the Covid19 pandemic, Mayor Maiko said:
“This is not only a local crisis but it is also an international disaster which has also been regarded by the World Health Organization as a pandemic.
“As a result we have undertaken training to first line healthcare members like Chitungwiza Hospital, CitiMed Hospital and Manyame Hospital on how to prevent the spread of Corona Virus among nationals.
“We have also engaged in awareness campaigns as well as the use of well detailed leaflets and posters which educate people on how to prevent and how to keep away from Covid19,” he said.
“We have also put into action contingent measures to deal with this pandemic and we have agreed to hold weekly meetings as the municipality to assess the credibility of our contingent measures put forward.
“Other national medical health cares have also been imparted with the general skills and knowledge on how to prevent the spread of this pandemic however sanitization is required from religious centres, medical centres, prisons, schools, bus terminals and other areas of gathering.”
