The City of Harare has identified seven development corridors to attract investment and generate economic activity within the region on the foundation of an efficient transport system.
The seven corridors include ED Mnangagwa, Avondale Second street, Samora Machel East-West, Mukuvisi, Harare-CAZ, Simon Mazorodze, Lomagundi and Ventureburg Export.
In an interview the City’s Spokesperson Michael Chideme said the corridors will change the face of the capital.
“A new shopping centre is coming soon in the new developed corridors and this will result in the rehabilitation of roads.
“The development corridors include ED Mnangagwa and Avondale-Second Street corridor which will accommodate shopping malls, hospitals and restaurants taking shape, changing the city skyline and landscape.”
“The corridors will help to decongest existing facilities and the main use of these development corridors is to bring services close to the people,” he said.
