Burial arrangements for the late comedian Tomato who died Wednesday morning due to heart failure will be announced in due course, a family spokesperson has said.
He was 30.
Born Lot Magarianzo, the entertainer suffered heart complications that led to a minor stroke before he developed swollen legs.
He was hospitalised for nearly a week.
Family spokesperson Patrick Kupara described the actor’s death as disheartening.
“The family is in pain and still to coming to terms with his passing. We did everything we could in hope that he could get better but death has robed us of a loved one too soon.
“We will announce burial arrangements soon and allow his friends to say final goodbyes but our only challenge is to maintain government laid down measures in regards to numbers attending funerals during this pandemic,” said Kupara.
Mourners are gathered at number 11 Ceres, in Hatfield, Harare.
The Mbare bred comedian is famed for skits including-Kunyeperana, Four plus Two Ndokugona Maths, Zvaunazvo Ndezvako and Mask Ndeyangu Nhasi among others.
