A POLICEMAN lost property when four armed robbers raided Ruwa Rehabilitation Centre tuckshops on Monday.
Constable Prince Chinemo’s tuckshop was one of those broken into by the robbers and lost US$471 and groceries worth about US$450.
Harare provincial police spokesperson, Inspector Luckmore Chakanza, said they are investigating the case.
“Police are investigating an armed robbery that took place at Ruwa Rehabilitation Centre tuckshops.
“His shopkeeper was sleeping in the shop when she heard the sound of a break in.
“She phoned her employer who quickly rushed to the scene.
“Complainant heard the sound of accused persons trying to open the doors of four other tuckshops using a metal bar.
“One of the accused persons produced a firearm and pointed it at the shopkeeper.”
He added:
“The accused persons then proceeded to the second complainant’s tuckshop.
“They broke the screen gate and door to gain entry.
“The accused stole a Samsung cellphone M12, one brick of Pacific cigarettes, four packets of cornflakes, and bread.”
