ZIMBABWE Prisons and Correctional Service (ZPCS) Commissioner General, Moses Chihobvu, has warned participants and officials going to the Southern Africa Correctional Service Sports and Cultural Exchange Games in South Africa that disciplinary action will be taken against anyone who misbehaves.

Speaking at the send-off ceremony, Comm-Gen Chihobvu reminded the team that high levels of discipline and exemplary behaviour are expected of them as serving members.

ZPCS is sending a contingent of 134 athletes and officials.

He advised all participants to be brand ambassadors for the organisation and the nation, and to avoid unhealthy rivalry in the games.

Comm-Gen Chihobvu warned participants and officials that disciplinary action would be taken against whoever misbehaves.

“Maintaining discipline at all times is of paramount importance.

“Remember, you will be brand ambassadors of the organisation and the nation, and by exhibiting indiscipline, you will have tarnished your own image, the image of the organisation and that of the country as a whole.

“You must also remember that discipline is essential for any sport because it builds a sportsmanship character to assist in focusing and achieving goals without distractions,” he said.

Athletes will compete in athletics, football, netball, volleyball, darts, chess and tug-of-war.
