A couple appeared in court on allegations of forging company documents and took over directorship of the firm before stealing money from its account.
Clark Clever Makoni and his wife Beverly Aisha Makoni appeared at the Harare Magistrates Court charged with fraud.
They were not asked to plead to the charges when they appeared before magistrate Dennis Mangosi charged with fraud.
Makoni and his wife, who own Ark Investments, are accused of forging Valley Lodges (Pvt) Ltd papers and took over directorship through an alleged forged CR14 form to Registrar of Companies.
They allegedly started to siphon money from its account since 2017.
The couple was tasked to manage Valley Lodges in Mutare by Galwox Investment (Pvt) Limited, which is the complainant in the matter.
The State is still to ascertain the amount of money the couple allegedly defrauded Valley Lodges (Pvt) Limited.
